Abstract
Open worship needs to be worship where evangelism takes place from beginning to end. In particular, evangelism has to come from the believers’ lives. Evangelism that is only words cannot inspire anyone. It is about coming to Christ by seeing the living Jesus Christ in the believers. Believers preparing open worship must have the fervent heart for the long-time believers, a heart given by the Lord. In addition, to people who want to know the gospel and God’s true message, programs that merely appear true and powerful should not be introduced, nor should the contents of other churches be imitated. Even the unique praise style and dramas fitting for that church, or anything else for that matter, should not become the focus of worship. Worship needs to be centered only on God. Training with the praise team at Hanmuri Church for a period of two years, as research for this thesis, was a time of spiritual growth, restoration of worship at Hanmuri Church, and a precious time of God’s grace overflowing. This thesis did not end with tears: for everyone who participated in the thesis together, it was a challenging time, a chance to see God at work, witness true growth in faith and confess that faith. I conclude my thesis by expressing a desire to see fulfilled God’s work of having the immigrant church, as well as all the churches worldwide, achieve true worship and become true churches.
